CONGRATULATIONS to Andre Dumas from the Capital District Chapter on winning the Arthur Bedell Award for extraordinary personal service to the New York Water Environment Association. Mr. Dumas has been a wastewater professional and a member of the Capital District Chapter of the NYWEA for over twenty-five years. He is a New York State Grade 4A Certified Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. Mr. Dumas now retired, was employed by the Saratoga County Sewer District since 1977 and played an important part of the “start-up” of the treatment facility. Mr. Dumas has been very active in the New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA) and an extremely valuable member of the Capital District Chapter for many years. He has also been a member of the Water Environment Federation for many years. Mr. Dumas has been on the NYWEA Capital District Chapter Board of Directors since 1988. He has served as the Capital District Chapter State Board Representative from 1995 until 2000 and has been the Capital District Chapter PWOD Representative from 2000 to present. Mr. Dumas also serves on the Capital District Chapter Scholarship Committee. His service in all of these capacities for the Capital District Chapter and to the New York Water Environment Association has been exceptional. Mr. Dumas is also a member of the “Select Society Of Sanitary Sludge Shovelers” (SSSSS).
